Draft a Quote with CrAIg

28 October 2026
CrAIgAIQuotesProQuant

CrAIg can draft a quote from a written description of the work, or import one from a ProQuant Estimating PDF. You check the draft, change anything you need to, and accept it to create the quote.

Who can do this: owners, admins and office staff.

Cost: 10 credits to draft from a description, 20 credits to import a ProQuant PDF. See CrAIg Credits.

Before you start: the customer and their site address must already be in Trades Panel. See Add and Manage a Contact's Addresses. CrAIg prices the work from your labour, material and plant presets, so set those up first. See Set Up Labour, Material and Plant Presets.

Draft a quote from a description

  1. Click CrAIg in the top bar, then New AI Task.
  2. Click Quote Tasks, then Create New Quote.
  3. Under Select Customer, search for the customer and choose them.
  4. Under Select Address, choose the site address.
  5. Under Instructions for AI, describe the work. Include sizes, quantities and the stages involved, for example "40sqm rear extension with pitched roof, groundworks, structural work and finishes".
  6. Optionally, under Upload PDF (Optional), add one PDF of plans, a specification or other documents. PDF files only, up to 4MB.
  7. Click Send to AI.

The task appears in the CrAIg panel and reads Working on your request while CrAIg drafts the quote. You can close the panel and carry on working. When the draft is finished, its status in the panel reads Ready.

Import a ProQuant Estimating PDF

The PDF must be an export with full labour, material and plant detail.

  1. Click CrAIg in the top bar, then New AI Task.
  2. Click Quote Tasks, then Import Quote, then ProQuant Estimating.
  3. Choose the customer under Select Customer and the site under Select Address.
  4. Under Upload PDF, add the ProQuant PDF.
  5. Click Send to AI.

The task appears in the CrAIg panel and reads Ready when the draft is finished.

For a Price A Job or HBXL EstimatorXpress CSV, see Import a Price A Job Estimate.

Check and accept the draft

  1. In the CrAIg panel, click the task, then Open Proposal. The AI Generated Proposal page opens, with the draft in the same form as a quote.
  2. Check every job item, line item, quantity and price. Change anything that is wrong, the same way as on a quote.
  3. If you made changes, click Save Proposal.
  4. Click Accept & Create Quote.

The quote is created and opens, ready to send. The draft stays in the CrAIg panel, hidden under Show applied tasks, and can no longer be edited.

Accept & Create Quote reads Save Changes First until you have saved your changes.

If you do not want the draft, click Reject instead. You can give a reason, and no quote is created. The credits for the task are not returned.
